PROCESSES AND POLICIES

Our process is simple. We learn about you and what you want for your event, provide initial design proofs, make any edits or adjustments, revise, and print! Here’s how it works:

  1. COLLABORATE

Because our designs are carefully crafted for each client, we want to hear your vision so we can tailor the piece to be uniquely “you.” We will discuss your ideas, expectations, inspiration and paper details by email or phone. But if you are in the Greenville area, we love to have you to our studio to talk about and feel the paper in person.

2. ESTIMATE + mood board

The beauty of traditionally printed pieces is a dying art that is starting to burn bright again. We partner with some wonderful companies locally and nationally to offer the best products. Because we are creating custom pieces of art with you, each project will require a custom quote before we can provide a cost estimate. Each estimate will come with an overview of our initial design discussion — to keep us visually on the same page.

Once an estimate is approved, 50% of the estimate will be due to begin work. Additional fees may be incurred due to changes in printing processes, changes in size, numerous revisions, rush requests, hard proofs, etc.

3. TIMELINE

Each piece is unique, therefore time will vary depending on the details and complexity of your particular design. In order to create a timeline, we work backwards from your desired delivery date and set benchmarks for review and press dates. Invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding.

Remember, because each piece is custom, it is better to allow more time than less for printing. We will provide you with a custom timeline based on your event, but we recommend starting the design process for various pieces as follows:

  • Save the Dates 3 months prior to the desired mail date (5-6 months before event).

  • Invitations 5-7 months prior to your desired mail date (6-8 weeks before event).

  • Day-of Materials 3 months prior to the event.

4. Create

Your initial design usually takes 2-3 weeks. It will be provided as a PDF via email with printing details.

Typically we provide all proofs via email, if you would like a hard (printed) proof this may be done for an additional fee.

5. review

Let us know what you think!

Your design fee includes up to 3 rounds of revisions, which will be clearly labeled. It is best to get feedback from all stakeholders, then send it back our way in one big list for revision. To keep things on track, send your collective thoughts back 24-48 hours after each revision.

If more than 3 rounds of revisions are needed, a fee of $75 per additional proof will be reflected on your invoice, due at the conclusion of the project. Please note, revisions should not be mistaken with redesigns, which is a completely different design than the original proof and may incur extra fees.

Proofread every detail of your order. When you approve your proof, you are signing off on the exact document that will be sent to print. Often times it is helpful to have someone outside of the project to proofread, so share with a friend or family member to get a fresh eye on the project. If you find an error in your final printed order, Redbud Lane Studio cannot offer a refund and reprinting will cost an additional production fee.

6. APPROVAL AND PRINTING

Once you are happy with your piece you can approve via email or signature on a hard proof and we will begin the production process.

Printed pieces are beautiful and tactile, but they take time. If final approval is not received by approval dates outlined in your paper timeline, an additional rush fee of $375 will be incurred. Upon final sign off, Redbud Lane Studio is not responsible for any formatting or type errors that went unnoticed during the review stage. All errors are the full responsibility of the client once the project has been approved.

7. ADDRESSING

There are two ways to address your envelopes: by hand or by print.

If you choose to print, your final formatted list will be due with your final print approval.

If you choose by hand, we work with some wonderful calligraphers and will show you their styles and their required format for addresses. Your list will be due to a calligrapher according to your paper schedule. If you want to work with your own calligrapher, make sure to know what format they need your list in.

We will provide 20% extra envelopes and 15-30 business days for calligraphy. If they need more, let us know before your final approval date.

8 MAILING

Your invitation estimate does not include stuff, stamp, and seal services or the cost of your postage. We will provide all pieces and instruction for preparing each mailing, allowing you 3-5 days for assembly before the set is due to the post office. If you would prefer us to take care of this for you, let us know before your first approvals and we schedule stuff, stamp, and seal for an additional mail services fee beginning at $4 per set.

Unfortunately, the US Postal Service does not always deliver as we think it should. Redbud Lane Studio is not responsible for mail lost, damaged, or returned by the US Postal Service.
